new-highwayAre you packed and ready to start your Los Sueños luxury getaway?

The slow pace of Costa Rica is part of the charm and intrigue but getting to this exciting destination in half the time is a huge bonus!

If you are flying in to SJO or just escaping your cubical or office in San Jose when you’re headed west to Los Sueños you’ll be hopping on the new San Jose-Caldera Highway.

The days of those long and winding2 or 2 ½ hours over windy mountain roads are over…. Now it’s just a quick zip over a smooth, straight, well marked highway headed for the sun, sand and the Pacific Ocean and you can jump-start your Los Sueños getaway in about an hour!

Now, you can enjoy more time ON your fabulous, long weekend or that well-deserved, luxury vacation rather than getting to and from your destination.

On Wednesday, January 27th, President Oscar Arias officially declared the opening of the highway in an inaugural ceremony that millions of Costa Ricans and visitors alike had anticipated for so many years. No too long after the project was approved to move forward a surprise came announcing that the road would be open about 4 months ahead of schedule!

Following the inauguration, the President toured the city of Puntarenas on the Gulf of Nicoya  and remarked that he made it there in about 45 minutes and had never arrived there before in less than about 90 minutes.

The first modern highway in the country, keep in mind that the Caldera is a toll road and will initially cost around $2.80 or  1,930 Colones to cross from the Capital to Caldera.

fb0001Heading to Los Sueños  Resort and Marina plus all the nearby fun and adventure with easy access from the Central Pacific coast, just got better!

Costa Rica is HOT HOT HOT this January for anglers fishing out of the Los Sueños Resort and Marina on the Central Pacific Coast.

Cerveza was the big winner this time around with a total of 33 Sailfish and 1 Marlin with a check for the top prize of $46,500.

Saturday, January 16th wrapped up the 1st leg of the Los Sueños Signature Billfish Series 2010 and the competition was fierce! So close in fact that with so many teams tied the winners had to be decided by time.
Those with the earliest, official times of release break the ties and determine who came out on top.

This year’s 1st leg winners are relative newcomers to the Los Sueños Marina but definitely no strangers to fishing or to taking top awards!

Owner Tom Russell, a regular guest with CR Luxury Rentals is on a great run in the competition here in Costa Rica. He’s been fishing these waters on the Cerveza since December of 2008.

Cerveza’s Captain, Butch Davis, comes from a fishing family. His father was also a captain and ran fishing charters out of Indian River Delaware. Now with 30 years experience, Butch passed his captain’s license exam at the age of 17…He wasn’t even old enough to be a licensed captain at that time. He told us “they let me take the test thinking I couldn’t pass it . Since I wasn’t old enough to have the license yet I had to wait to receive it and they mailed it to me on my 18th birthday”!

Cerveza owner, Tom Russell says they have fished in many places such as the East Coast of the United States and the Bahamas.  But fishing out of Los Sueños is the best.  The facts show it too.  Russell says the “competition here is great”!

Tom Russell, Captain Butch Davis and their incredible team are on quite a winning role. Just last month, here at Los Suenos, they also took the top honors as World Champions in the WBS, World Billfish Series.

In 2009 alone the Cerveza caught 450 Billfish in only 70 days of fishing.

When asked how they do it, Owner, Tom Russell says “it’s our Secret Weapon, aka “El Capitan” Butch Davis”. Davis humbly says “we fish a lot… to be really good, you have to fish a lot”.  That they do, and they have the trophies to prove it!

Top Angler award was a very tight competition as well…several competitors were tied for fish caught but the tie breaking time proved the winner was none other than Los Suenos visionary and developer, Bill Royster. Mark Jones who placed 4th this time in the Top Angler category took 1st place as Top Angler in the November 2009 Los Sueños Marlin Invitational.

Cerveza owner, Tom Russell says it’s not only the fishing that keeps him here at Los Sueños.

He comes to the resort for the amazing catch and great competition but also brings his family to enjoy the resort and the excitement & adventure of the rainforest while staying in the luxury condominiums here in the gated communities of the resort. He says “Casandra and Roxana of the CR Luxury Diamond Concierge Team are great and always provide everything they need”….he also goes on to say he plays favorites with another CR Luxury team member…”we love Jose Eduardo the best!” The CR Luxury office is conveniently located right in the Marina Village.

When asked “why Costa Rica?” Russell says “I love the fishing, the people and the country. Bill Royster had an amazing vision and this resort is the best I have seen”.

Costa Rica Luxury Rentals congratulates all the participants in the tournament and are here to help with luxury accommodations, tours, airport transportation, tee times or just good advice about almot anything you may want or need while visiting Costa Rica.

We look forward to seeing you back here in February for the 2nd leg of the Los Sueños Signature Billfish Series.

Sunset Wedding ceremony at Los Suenos Beach ClubCosta Rica is quickly becoming the #1 choice for destination weddings
For many creative couples. Whether your dream setting is beach, a mountain top, or hanging from a ZipLine 100 feet above the floor of the rainforest, a destination wedding in Costa Rica will not disappoint.

This tiny Central American country has more variety of environments and desirable settings to offer than almost anyplace on earth. First there is such a wide range of micro climates such as the Rainforest, dry cool Cloudforest or choose from an oceanfront beach ceremony on not just one coast….but your choice of the waves of the vast and mighty Pacific Ocean or the white sand and turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
Yes, it’s true….one paradise, two oceans.

Many couples seek wild eco-adventure, some are looking for a casual atmosphere and warm weather year-round, some for terrific value in an exotic location…Costa Rica offers them all. The most common thread with most of these couples is to preserve some elements of cultural or religious tradition in their ceremony while still enjoying the exotic scenery, celebrating their raw, adventurous sides and creating one-of-a-kind memories for the whole group that weren’t just popped out of a mold in a factory like many typical weddings.

One very vibrant couple made this dream a reality while creatively combining centuries-old East Indian tradition with a spicy Latin twist.

East Indian CeremonyThis was no ordinary East Indian wedding.
The setting was Los Sueños Resort and Marina on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.

This particular couple has a passion for a tropical environment and the sea so they also wanted a beachfront wedding. The question was…how do they achieve it all…all in one amazing place?

They really had an interesting mix of requirements and a travel planner in the U.S. recommended they consider Los Sueños, just a 2 hour drive from the capital city of San Jose (soon to be a 1 hour drive when the new national highway opens in early 2010)

The family knew they had some challenges ahead with such unique requirements and it would take a very special, dedicated team to pull off all the complicated and specialized details.

They visited the Los Suenos resort, met with the CR Luxury Wedding Coordinator, explained their requests and requirements, and decided they’d found exactly what they wanted.

A Pre-wedding visit to experience the destination, the resort or hotel is highly recommended. Some venues even have a program allowing a one or two night complimentary visit, site tour and planning meeting.

Many hotels and resorts also offer a special bridal package which sometimes might include items like a complimentary cake, flower arrangement, banquet room and even a honeymoon suite at no charge for the bride and groom with a certain number of condominiums or hotel rooms booked for friends and family.

Wedding Reception Los Suenos Marriott HotelCheck with the group sales department, reservations department, concierge or wedding planner for each venue you are considering and ask what offers they may extend and how much value you will receive for your dollars spent. Always consult a professional when preparing for a destination wedding either through the services of an independent planner or an “in-house” wedding coordinator.

Someone with expert knowledge of the location and great relationships with local vendors can help provide every detail and pull it off without even the slightest bump in the process. Well, almost any event planner will tell you; “there are bumps in carrying out any event…but a true professional will identify issues and find a creative solution to remedy the situation quickly where everyone in attendance will see only a hugely successful, joyful event”. The most important thing in almost any wedding planning process is to minimize the stress and maximize the pleasure of the entire experience from the first visit and consideration of the location, through the return home from the honeymoon.

The couple was amazed at how a team in Latin America, who never previously had any contact with East Indian culture, stepped right in, were happy to assist with every unusual detail and never were flustered by even a fleeting thought, of not being able to deliver every wish .

East Indian Wedding Built AlterThis well-traveled bride, grew up in Costa Rica and still has family in the country so she knows first hand all the wonders that Costa Rica and Latin America have to offer.  She knew this was the perfect place to bond their relationship and blend the two, vastly different cultures she calls her own.

Once the plans were made they flew from their home in Boston and after a few days in the city it was time to head west toward the Pacific coast to Los Sueños to begin the elaborate 3 day celebration.

The group arrived at Los Suenos Resort, checked in with the CR Luxury Diamond Concierge Team and the family met with their personal “in-house” wedding coordinator who immediately put them at ease ahd had every detail covered. Next stop….AAAAhhhhhhhh!

The bride said“ Once everyone arrived and checked into their luxury condominiums, everyone was so relaxed…..I think this set a great mood for the entire trip right away.”

It was November 26th, the day before Thanksgiving family did not want to miss that tradition either.  The CR Luxury Concierge ordered a full Thanksgiving Dinner that was delivered to the family at their condominium.

This was another great example of the blending of cultures…An American Celebration, enjoyed by an East Indian family across the street from the rainforest, in Costa Rica! This just goes to show what a warm welcome can be found for all cultures in this little Latin American paradise!

Los Suenos Marriott Hotel receptionThe bride also tells us that the luxury condominiums were “such a great decision”. They all enjoyed a beautiful, spacious home that allowed everyone to be comfortable and gather together several times and enjoy each other’s company as a family and as a group.  She also told us that they were impressed at how the units are so well kept. She said that the time shared and closeness would not have been possible if they were all staying in a luxury hotel.

Arrangements were made for the first ceremonial events…the ladies participated in a ritual called Mehndi and they flew in a special Henna artist from Toronto for the event while the family men gathered for drinks at sunset and enjoyed a memorable time.

The next event called Sangeet, began almost immediately afterward…poolside at the private, Los Sueños Beach Club.
Just another example of blending of the scenery of this Latin American paradise and rich East Indian culture.
The Sangeet event began with drinks and appetizers, being served.
While the guests were sipping and dining, there were dance and musical performances, the Newlywed Game and an open mic for speeches from friends.

East Indian Bride Then came the wedding day and it was spectacular right from the start!

In a more typical setting the family and guests of the groom would proceed together fully costumed and decorated to the home of the bride for the wedding ceremony. For this creative couple, there was an exciting twist!

With the groom’s dressed in formal East Indian wedding attire, he mounts a horse and the group of family and guests begin the colorful procession, called Baraat winding through the Los Sueños resort toward the Beach Club for Milni where the bride’s family greets the groom’s for the ritual exchange of garlands.

The wedding couple were married on a stage with floral alter specially designed and built right here in Costa Rica of wood with a steel bowl for a special fire just for this particular ceremony.

A tented beachfront reception, decorated in linens and ribbon of white, gold and green followed the ceremony. Drinks and appetizers were served as well as a fantastic, authentic dinner catered by the family’s favorite restaurant East Indian restaurant from San Jose.

East Indian Wedding in Costa RicaThis lovely bride commented that every task and request, no matter how unique, strange or unconventional, from a horse for the groom’s procession to a specially built stage and alter was possible due to the “can do” attitude of the CR Luxury Diamond Concierge team.

The beach, rainforest covered mountains, outdoor venues, spacious luxury accommodations and the oceanfront views allowed this modern, young couple to create a very personalized, unique series of events which blended their rich East Indianheritage with their love for the beach and the tropics for a spicy Latin twist!

This was an example of just one couple’s unique creative dream wedding.

Never let your wedding dreams have limits…reach for the sky…right here in Costa Rica!

See what bride and groom had to say.

Look at this article that The New York Times published on January 7, 2010 that was written by Nicholas D. Kristof.

We wanted to share it with you!

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica

Hmmm. You think it’s a coincidence? Costa Rica is one of the very few countries to have abolished its army, costa-ricaand it’s also arguably the happiest nation on earth.

There are several ways of measuring happiness in countries, all inexact, but this pearl of Central America does stunningly well by whatever system is used. For example, the World Database of Happiness, compiled by a Dutch sociologist on the basis of answers to surveys by Gallup and others, lists Costa Rica in the top spot out of 148 nations.

That’s because Costa Ricans, asked to rate their own happiness on a 10-point scale, average 8.5. Denmark is next at 8.3, the United States ranks 20th at 7.4 and Togo and Tanzania bring up the caboose at 2.6.

Scholars also calculate happiness by determining “happy life years.” This figure results from merging average self-reported happiness, as above, with life expectancy. Using this system, Costa Rica again easily tops the list. The United States is 19th, and Zimbabwe comes in last.

A third approach is the “happy planet index,” devised by the New Economics Foundation, a liberal think tank. This combines happiness and longevity but adjusts for environmental impact — such as the carbon that countries spew.

Here again, Costa Rica wins the day, for achieving contentment and longevity in an environmentally sustainable way. The Dominican Republic ranks second, the United States 114th (because of its huge ecological footprint) and Zimbabwe is last.

Kids running on the beachMaybe Costa Rican contentment has something to do with the chance to explore dazzling beaches on both sides of the country, when one isn’t admiring the sloths in the jungle (sloths truly are slothful, I discovered; they are the tortoises of the trees). Costa Rica has done an unusually good job preserving nature, and it’s surely easier to be happy while basking in sunshine and greenery than while shivering up north and suffering “nature deficit disorder.”

After dragging my 12-year-old daughter through Honduran slums and Nicaraguan villages on this trip, she was delighted to see a Costa Rican beach and stroll through a national park. Among her favorite animals now: Costa Rican iguanaiguanas and sloths.

(Note to boss: Maybe we should have a columnist based in Costa Rica?)

What sets Costa Rica apart is its remarkable decision in 1949 to dissolve its armed forces and invest instead in education. Increased schooling created a more stable society, less prone to the conflicts that have raged elsewhere in Central America. Education also boosted the economy, enabling the country to become a major exporter of computer chips and improving English-language skills so as to attract American eco-tourists.

I’m not antimilitary. But the evidence is strong that education is often a far better investment than artillery.

In Costa Rica, rising education levels also fostered impressive gender equality so that it ranks higher than the United States in the World Economic Forum gender gap index. This allows Costa Rica to use its female population more productively than is true in most of the region. Likewise, education nurtured improvements in health care, with life expectancy now about the same as in the United States — a bit longer in some data sets, a bit shorter in others.

Rising education levels also led the country to preserve its lush environment as an economic asset. Costa Rica is an ecological pioneer, introducing a carbon tax in 1997. The Environmental Performance Index, a collaboration of Yale and Columbia Universities, ranks Costa Rica at No. 5 in the world, the best outside Europe.

This emphasis on the environment hasn’t sabotaged Costa Rica’s economy but has bolstered it. Indeed, Costa Rica is one of the few countries that is seeing migration from the United States: Yankees are moving here to enjoy a low-cost retirement. My hunch is that in 25 years, we’ll see large numbers of English-speaking retirement communities along the Costa Rican coast.

Latin countries generally do well in happiness surveys. Mexico and Colombia rank higher than the United States in self-reported contentment. Perhaps one reason is a cultural emphasis on family and friends, on social capital over financial capital — but then again, Mexicans sometimes slip into the United States, presumably in pursuit of both happiness and assets.

Cross-country comparisons of happiness are controversial and uncertain. But what does seem quite clear is that Costa Rica’s national decision to invest in education rather than arms has paid rich dividends. Maybe the lesson for the United States is that we should devote fewer resources to shoring up foreign armies and more to bolstering schools both at home and abroad.

In the meantime, I encourage you to conduct your own research in Costa Rica, exploring those magnificent beaches or admiring those slothful sloths. It’ll surely make you happy.

Friends relaxing and having a drink at the Beach Club poolThe holidays are over, it’s January again already, and you’re dreading spending another semester break back in your hometown. Instead of wasting your days just waiting for your free time to come to an end, why not spend some fun-filled days or weeks in Costa Rica? Bring your best girlfriends or your best guy friends, or a mix of both, and escape to one of today’s hottest vacation destinations.

Costa Rica is the perfect place for a spontaneous quick getaway or a longer stay during your month off. Take an easy and reasonably priced flight from your local airport and arrive at any of the country’s two international hubs—San Jose or Liberia. With a well-architected infrastructure, it’s easy to get yourself around once you arrive. Take quick flights within the country to reach your favorite places as soon as possible; rent a car and have the freedom to get up and go any time; or use the highly reliable bus system that reaches all corners of the country. Costa Rica is the safest nation in Central America, and you’ll find that the local people are friendly and accommodating, always reaching out to help new visitors and make new friends.

Girlfriends relaxing at the Beach Club poolYou and your buddies can spend days relaxing at the beach, warming up in Costa Rica’s many hot spring spots, or a hanging out at the spa and pool. Sign up for group surf lessons and learn how to ride the waves, or maybe try out kayaking or windsurfing.

Although Costa Rica is well-known for its gorgeous, seemingly endless miles of coastlines, there’s more to the country than fun in the sun. Its rainforests, exotic wildlife, and outdoor adventures provide hours of entertainment. Protected lands and national parks are a big draw for ecotourism. You and your friends can see monkeys and toucans in their natural environments, or experience your first active volcano up close at the rim. On a hike through the cloud and rainforests, a guide can teach you the names of all the indigenous vibrant flowers and vegetation.

Sunset at the beachNeed to fit in some hard-core studious hours during your stay? No problem—there are a wide variety of educational and cultural-enriching opportunities to be had throughout Costa Rica as well. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced Spanish classes are offered all over the country. You can enroll in classes for a few days or weeks at a time. If you want an even more fulfilling cultural immersion, opt for a homestay while in Costa Rica. Most Spanish schools can arrange for you to live with a local family who only speaks Spanish. This way you can get in even more language-speaking time and you can learn about the culture first hand.

Ready to escort baby leatherback turtles into the ocean

Ready to escort baby leatherback turtles into the ocean

Come to Costa Rica this holiday season where “going green” is more than the latest trend…it’s our way of life!

With a tremendous average annual rainfall, we’ve been green almost since the dawn of time.

Each holiday season there are new toys, gadgets and warm things to wear that are on wish lists everywhere. There are

numerous frantic shopping days and over-spending to find just the right gift for each family member.…only to find those

very items too small, broken, on the closet shelf, techno-obsolete or at the family garage sale next Spring.

This year, start a new holiday tradition!

Families everywhere are recycling, saving a tree or two where they can, using less fuel, conserving water and remodeling

their homes with materials derived from renewable resources.  You are working hard to save the planet….Come to

Costa Rica and live the thrills, excitement and adventures of one of the richest places on earth!

Experience prehistoric volcanoes, the wonders of the rain forest or become  “Hands-on Volunteers” helping to protect

and save baby sea turtles…assisting them to arrive safely into the ocean allowing them to grow and thrive!

This is no simulation, not a zoo, a wild animal park or exhibit; it’s not even a “Café” with exotic décor and a Rainforest

theme. It’s all real, all pure, all the time!

Family travel is best enjoyed when everyone is together and when the accommodations are spacious and comfortable.

Much like home, a luxury vacation rental can provide a home environment accommodating up to 6 people. You can reap

the benefits of comfort and space while having the most access to the best that Costa Rica has to offer.

The wildlife thrives in the green foliage and tropical climate of Costa Rica.  So imagine the looks on your kid’s faces when

they see monkeys, iguanas or exotic birds right outside your door with their own eyes!

Protection of the environment and its wildlife is highly important to the country and its citizens.  This magical place of

amazing tropical foliage, mountains and valleys with many different climates all sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean

and Caribbean Sea with all its wonders is just waiting for you to explore.

Zig Zag from tree to tree and fly through a cloud with a breathtaking view of Herradura Bay on Zip Lines under the

canopy of the rainforest one day… then ride on horseback climbing into the foothills, across a creek to an amazing

waterfall the next.

Can you imagine starting your morning with a view of the slopes of jungle covered mountains splashing into the sea on the

Pacific Coast  then watching the lava flow as it illuminates the night sky from the slopes of the perfect Volcanic cone called

Arenal all in the same day?

Many of the adventures you may choose may begin only a few minutes away from the comfort, luxury and convenience of

your home base.

Tomorrow you may then be enjoying the white sand and turquoise waters of the pleasures of the Caribbean before

returning to your base on the Central Pacific coast.

A family vacation brings people together to rejuvenate, relax, play and become reacquainted.  Enjoying life with those

they love the most while temporarily leaving the rest of the world behind.

All Costa Rica is now very easily accessible from most U.S. and Canadian gateways, all available at your fingertips.

You’ll all enjoy so much for so little…it’s an incredible family value!…and we all like that!

So, eliminate the shopping, forget the hectic trips to the mall in the rain and snow. There’ll be no need for parking or the

endless hours of catalogue shopping. You may even save a tree from becoming just another roll of Santa covered

wrapping paper.

This season, wrap up the gift of togetherness on your first trip to a genuine paradise and you can also feel great about

doing your part for the planet!

It may be hard to imagine but it’s all right here in Costa Rica…with “No Artificial Ingredients” as they say.

Truly, “Go Green” in Costa Rica… this Holiday Season…turning those family dreams into lifetime memories.

Now it’s easier than ever to Live PuraVida (the Pure Life) together!

You’re finally getting a chance to get away together, no husbands, no boyfriends, just a bunch of girls enjoying themselves.  This isn’t just another weekend shopping spree.  This is something special.  You want to do something different, go somewhere different, get away from the humdrum ordinariness of everyday life.  Where is the perfect place to go?  Costa Rica, with its beautiful beaches, soaring mountains, dense jungles and tropical rain forests and most of all its warm and friendly people.

Costa Rica, just far enough away, without being too far away, just different enough to be fun and exciting, but comfortable enough to make you feel right at home.  And where’s the best place to go in Costa Rica?  Knowledgeable travelers will tell you that it’s famous Jaco Beach and the place to be at Jaco Beach, is at the world renowned Los Suenos Resort and Marina, where it could turn into a weekend shopping spree after all, or a weeklong spree as you visit all the world class shops and fine restaurants.

But there’s a lot more to do at Los Suenos than shopping eating. That’s why it’s a resort and marina, instead of just a shopping mall. There’s swimming and surfing and boating and deep sea fishing and hiking on mountain trails to visit volcanoes, or exploring national parks and rain forests, river rafting, sightseeing, horse back, dancing, gambling in the casino and on and on.

And naturally the place to stay at the Los Suenos Resort is the five star Marriott Hotel, for the ultimate in luxury. WRONG!

How often do girls have a chance to really be together and hang out and gossip and catch up on old times? When you finally do get a chance to get away together, wouldn’t it be nice to really be together? So why not rent a luxury condominium right there at the Los Suenos Resort and Marina, right near the Marriott, but so much nicer,  with access to all the resort amenities?

Relax in true luxury, with all the comforts of home and more, instead of the cramped closeness of a hotel room. Instead of having to pair off at night, each set of girls to their own small room, or pretending you’re having fun when you’re all trying to socialize in one room, you can have a real living room where you can all hang out together in comfort and then retreat to your private bedrooms when you do want to be alone.

Just imagine the giddy pleasure of knowing that there’s a whole, fully equipped gourmet kitchen right there, but no one’s going to use it, not with all those wonderful restaurants just a short walk away. There’s no men to cook for, no husbands, boyfriends, no kids, so who needs a stove? It’s there just in case, but who cares? What a wonderful, liberating feeling. It really drives home the idea that you are not just on vacation, but on the vacation of your life.

And then you step out the door and there you are, in the heart of a world-renowned luxury resort, right on one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. Girls just want to have fun and there are few places in the world like the Los Suenos resort at Jaco Beach, Costa Rica, to do it. Whatever fun means to you and your girlfriends, you’ll find it right here.

Want to do things you could never do at home? How about visiting a volcano? Or a rain forest? Or a native village? In Costa Rica, your biggest problem will be what to do first and that’s why we have a concierge to help you book tours, nature and adventure trips, or just dinner and entertainment for the evening.

Girls will be girls, right? That’s why the Los Sueno Resort and Marina offers swimming and surfing, waterskiing and horseback riding and boating and deep sea fishing and luxury spas. There’s something for everyone and more. That’s why it’s good to know that if you get exhausted from too much activity and just want some rest, you have a real home to come back to, instead of a single room with no real privacy or just room to wander around.

They say there’s no place like home for a reason, so why not have all the comforts of home and more when you go on vacation? Why settle, when instead you can take a real step up in life? This is just like being at home alright, if your home costs anywhere from half a  million to three million dollars and is located right in a world-class resort at one of the world’s most celebrated beaches.

So, if you and your girlfriends are planning that special trip together, think of the Los Suenos Resort at Jaco Beach, Costa Rica and think of kicking back with the girls in your own luxury condominium. It will truly be the vacation of a lifetime, the one that you will all treasure for years.

So, you’re planning a getaway with the guys? You want to go someplace special, with beautiful beaches, deep sea fishing, golf, horseback riding, sightseeing, swimming, surfing, fine restaurants, night time entertainment and all the other amenities of a five star resort, BUT, do you really think it’s going to work staying in a luxury hotel?

Let’s face it, luxury hotels are just not really a guy thing. They’re more a of a girl thing, great when you want to take the wife or the girlfriend some place and you know she wants to feel pampered and special and get treated like she doesn’t get treated at home.

When you go with the wife or the girlfriend you give her what she wants and you stay in a luxury hotel. You’ll have luxury restaurants, 24 hour a day room service and a room that’s fine for just the two of you, especially since you won’t be spending any more time in the room than necessary, anyway. This can work even if you’re traveling with another guy, as long as it’s one other guy and not a bunch of guys.

Two of you can fit in one hotel room. Sure there’s not much room and absolutely no privacy, but if you’re really good friends you can make it work, at least for a couple of days, anyway. But when you’re really planning a getaway for the “guys”, four, five or six guys, not just two of you, then hotels, even five star luxury hotels, just won’t cut it.

No matter how expensive or luxurious they are, hotel rooms are not made for partying, well, at least not the kind of partying that involves five or six friends who are traveling together because they want to spend some time together. Things get awfully crowded in a hotel room once there are more than two or three guys.

So, what are you going to do? After all, you’re not college students anymore. You’re grown men, so you’re not just going to sleep on the beach. Well guys, here’s a secret. Now you can have your cake and eat it too. You can stay at the world-class Los Suenos Resort and Marina at beautiful Jaco Beach, Costa Rica and get all the resort amenities without being cramped into tiny hotel rooms.

The hotel is right there at the resort, a five star Marriott, with all the fine restaurants and entertainment you could want including a fabulous casino and a beautiful golf course, but even the rooms at the Marriott can’t begin to compare to the spacious luxury and comfort of your own luxury condo.

That’s right. We said condo.

Now wait a second, don’t laugh.

You’re guys on the vacation of a lifetime, so you’re not going to let something silly like a stove, scare you off, are you? You know better than that. Just because it’s there, doesn’t mean you ever have to use it. We don’t have any Kitchen Police forcing you to cook and unless one of you is an amateur chef, why would you want to, with all those great restaurants just a short walk away?

If one of you is an amateur chef, you’ll find everything you need and more to indulge your fantasies, with all the gourmet kitchen appliances you could dream of. But, if you’re just a bunch of regular guys, then a gourmet kitchen just means a bigger refrigerator. You get more room to store the beer and the pitchers of cold Margaritas and to make more ice cubes. That’s okay too. We don’t mind.

We know that to regular guys, cooking means barbecuing; not fooling around with a stove.  And barbecuing means Man food, like fresh game fish. You fight it, you catch it and haul it in and then before you have it stuffed so you can mount the trophy on your wall, you bring it home to your luxury condo, your home away from home and fire up the barbie. Break out the cold beer and margaritas and it’s party time, a real reward for all the effort you put in catching that beauty in the first place and a lot tastier than a trophy mounted on the wall.

Worried that you’ll all get sick of each other, being in the same condo together all the time? Don’t worry. First of all, you’ll still have private bedrooms when you want to be alone and you’ll be spending plenty of time apart. With all the variety of activities from golf to swimming and surfing to deep sea fishing and river rafting and  horseback riding, to hiking through the rain forest, visiting a volcano or one of the fabulous national parks, there’s almost no way that you’ll all agree on what to do all the time.

However, when you want to be together and enjoy each other’s company, you’ll have the room to do it in comfort, guy-style, with room to spread out and relax and feel at home,  not all crammed into one small hotel room, pretending that the lack of space doesn’t really bother you.

We’ll even let you in on another secret. With all those great activities to choose from, we know that guys don’t like to plan and make a bunch of phone calls and  arrangements. Guys want to get out and go, without hassles or annoyances. That’s why we have our luxury concierge service to do all your planning and make all your arrangements for you. Golf, fishing, dinner, entertainment, horseback riding, guided tours, or customized individual getaways, just tell the concierge and they will do the rest. That’s right. You get all the convenience and amenities of a five star luxury hotel without the drawbacks.

So, the choice is yours. You can either settle for an ordinary, traditional, pre-packaged luxury vacation, with someone else deciding where you should go and what you should do when and a two person hotel room for your “home away from home”, OR, you can opt for something totally different, YOUR luxury guys’ getaway on YOUR terms, with a home away from home so luxurious and comfortable and right in the middle of everything you want to do, that you’ll never want to leave.

And guess what? You might not have to.  One trip to our luxury rental condos at the renowned Los Suenos Beach Resort and Marina at beautiful Jaco Beach, may convince you to stay and buy a condo of your own, so that you can enjoy the benefits of resort living year round.

Stranger things have happened and once you experience the unparalleled beauty and luxury of Los Suenos Resort and Marina, you too will understand. It’s a guy thing. We’ll just keep the maid service and the concierge and the  general level of luxury care and service a secret. We’ll never tell anyone that real guys like to be taken care of and waited on hand and foot and pampered like a bunch of spoiled princesses at a beauty spa - when they aren’t too busy out doing manly things.

We’ll just keep that part our little secret and when you get home you can tell everyone how luxury hotels are fine for women, but real guys don’t need all that fancy stuff. They know how to rough it on their own, and so they stay in condos. Nobody else has to know that “roughing it” really means being taken care of 24 hours a day and even having first class medical facilities on site to deal with those sports injuries or other emergencies. After all, it’s a guy thing, so we’ll keep it just between us.

Costa Rica is often named as one of the top 10 spots for a really romantic honeymoon.  It is one of few honeymoon destinations that offer such a diverse number of opportunities and environments.  From relaxing on a beach, to touring an ancient volcano, or zip lining through the jungle canopy, Costa Rica has something for everyone.  But probably the one thing Costa Rica is most famous for is its beaches.  If you are honeymooning in Costa Rica be sure to check out all the many beaches Costa Rica has to offer.

1. Manuel Antonio

Travel guides will often describe Manuel Antonio as not only one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, bur also one of the most beautiful in the world.  The amazing scenery surrounding the white sand beaches includes jungle canopy, waterfalls, and lush palm trees.  It offers the most variety of activities as along with sunbathing, you can also surf, snorkel, sea kayak, fish, and surf.

2. Nicoya Peninsula

The Nicoya Peninsula is not a single beach but a geographical area that includes several beaches along the coastline.  These sandy beaches and warm waters are more secluded and lure fewer tourists than some of the other beaches.  If you’re looking for a quieter Costa Rica honeymoon, this may be the place for you.

3. Playa Tamarindo

This is one of Costa Rica’s most famous beach towns.  The beaches are beautiful and sandy backed by towering palm trees and blessed with eternally warm waters.  It is probably one of the most “touristy” of all the beaches.  It is close to many of the adventure tours of the area if you want to combine beach bumming and new experiences.  There is also plenty of shopping, dining, and nightlife.

4. Montezuma

If night life, art, partying, and people watching are your thing, then Montezuma Beach may be suitable for your honeymoon destination.  It is a little more budget-friendly as it is more an area for locals than tourists.  There is always something interesting going on from artisans displaying their wares to musicians entertaining the beach crowd.  It is also one of the best places to experiment with the local cuisine.  There is plenty of adventure waiting nearby as well and the beach itself boasts beachside waterfalls and warm inviting tide pools.

5. Jaco

Jaco Beach was at one time just a sleepy beach town, but in the last few years its popularity has grown as tourists discovered the fantastic surfing opportunities.  This combined with its proximity to San Jose and the night life available there has made Jaco one of the most favoured honeymoon beach destinations.  While it is one of the best for surfing, it is not considered a particularly safe beach for swimming as the waves are high and fast-breaking.  For sunning and swimming, there are other beaches that are better.
